Bell Path pricing

Founding schools pay $1,000 for their first year. Standard pricing goes by school size.

One annual price covers the whole school, with no per-user fees. After the first 20 schools, the standard price goes by school size, from $679 a year for a school of up to 100 students to $2,699 a year for 301 to 450 students. Founding schools also get closer support and a say in what gets built next.

Starting is free. You create an account and set your school up before anything is charged. Already have a timetable? Bring it in and run Daily Cover on it. It is free for two weeks on your own timetable. You pay when you share it with staff or keep going past that.

What will my school pay

Three numbers you already know, and the price you actually pay.

Answer all three and you get your exact price. Answer what you know so far and you get the least your school would pay. Bell Path prices on whichever is highest of enrolment, classes, or teachers and specialists, so a school can sit in a higher band than its enrolment alone suggests.

Your school

Any one answer is enough for a price. Bell Path charges on whichever of the three is highest, so the more you answer, the more exact the price.

These three boxes are still loading and will take an answer in a moment.

Your February census figure is close enough. Nothing is checked against anything until you set your school up.

Every class that needs its own line on the timetable, composites included. A 3/4 composite is one class.

Count teachers with their own class and specialists such as PE, Art, Music or LOTE. Leave out your principal, assistant principals and other leadership, education support staff and aides, and office and other staff: they go into Bell Path but do not change the price. A teacher who also leads a team counts once.

What the price buys, at every size

  • Timetable generation that delivers planning time and works around meetings and rooms
  • Teacher, class, room and whole-school timetables, all from one generation
  • A check before you publish, with every clash named, and saved versions you can go back to
  • Daily cover, yard duty and wet day plans in one place
  • Teacher, class and principal PDFs you can email to staff
  • Card checkout through Stripe, with invoice records for your finance office
  • Manual refund support under the Bell Path money-back guarantee

Every school gets all of it. The tier changes the price, never the product.

Choose the annual plan

No card is asked for to see this number, and none is asked for to create an account. You build your school in the setup steps first, then generate a free preview of its real timetable. A subscription unlocks the full week, sharing and downloads.

The numbers

One flat price for the first 20 schools. Pricing by school size after that.

The first 20 schools pay one flat price because they are helping to test and shape Bell Path while it is new. Standard pricing goes by school size, using whichever is highest of the enrolment you declare, the classes you enter, and the teachers and specialists you enter during setup.

Annual

The best-value price. Pay once a year by card through Stripe, or ask for an invoice and pay by bank transfer.

Termly

Pay four times a year through Stripe. The four payments add up to more than the annual price.

Founding school price

Pilot schools (schools 1-5) get their first year free, then pay $1,000 a year for two years.

Prices are in Australian dollars. No GST is currently added. Creating an account does not take payment. Billing starts later, after setup is complete.

Each tier shows the most classes, then the most counted staff, it covers. The note under the table says who is counted.

Bell Path uses whichever tier is highest by enrolment, classes, or teachers and specialists. Setup takes up to 60 classes for any school, so no tier lists more classes than that. The teacher count includes teachers with their own class and specialists such as PE, Art, Music or LOTE. It leaves out your principal, assistant principals and other leadership, education support staff and aides, and office and other staff: they go into Bell Path but do not change the price.

Approval handoff

The facts finance and leadership need next.

This page is about price. When your principal or business manager needs the security, privacy and data record as well, the approval pack has it in one printable place.

Open the School Approval Pack
Cost per student
The standard price is one annual subscription for the whole school. There are no per-user fees. A 300-student school pays about $5 per student per year and a 600-student school about $6.
Quote and PO before payment
Inside Billing, owners and admins can add a purchase order number and download a Bell Path quote PDF before starting checkout.
Annual bank-transfer invoice
If your school prefers to pay by invoice, choose "Pay by invoice" in Billing and say where to send it. Bell Path emails the invoice within 24 hours and keeps a copy in Billing for download. Bank details appear only inside the invoice.
Business-manager handoff
Invite your business manager from Settings, then Members, and share the School Approval Pack with them. Bank details appear only inside the invoice, not on the website.

Against leadership time

What timetabling by hand costs in an assistant principal's salary.

In most primary schools the timetable, daily cover and yard duty are done by an assistant principal. Under the Victorian Government Schools Agreement 2022, Victorian assistant principals are paid between $136,022 and $191,811 a year (rates from 1 July 2025, before superannuation). Nobody publishes how many hours that role spends on timetabling, so the table lets you pick the number that matches your school.

Slide the table sideways to see the salary columns.

Hours a weekHours a year (40 weeks)Cost at $136,022Cost at $191,811
2 hours80 hoursabout $5,500about $7,800
5 hours200 hoursabout $13,800about $19,400
10 hours400 hoursabout $27,500about $38,800

The salary cost is the annual salary divided by a 38-hour week across 52 weeks, then multiplied by the hours. It leaves out superannuation and on-costs, so the real cost to the school is higher. Set it against the price for your school above: a 300-student school pays $1,349 a year on standard pricing.

How timetabling software is priced, and what “free” really costs

The first 20 schools

Three stages. Early schools help shape the product.

  1. Pilot

    Pilot schools

    Schools 1-5

The first five schools join by invitation and help shape the product with close support. Year one is free. Years two and three are $1,000 each. After that, the standard price for the school’s size applies.

  2. Founding

    Founding schools

    Schools 6-20

Schools 6 to 20 pay $1,000 for their first year and help shape the product. From year two, the standard price for the school’s size applies.

  3. Standard

    Standard schools

    Schools 21+

Once 20 schools have joined, every new school pays the standard price for its size from the start.

Included

The same product at every size.

Every school gets the same product. Larger schools pay more because they have more classes and staff to timetable, and because their funding is larger.

Built for real school shapes

Job-shares, dual-role specialists and time in lieu are already handled.

Bell Path schedules job-share pairs, specialists who also teach a class, time in lieu and rules that differ by year level today. None of this is on a roadmap; it is in the product now, so a school whose week never fits a template still gets a timetable it can trust.

What stays true

What stays the same whichever price you pay.

Payment methods

Stripe checkout takes Credit card, Debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link for annual or termly billing. Bank transfer is for annual billing only: choose “Pay by invoice” in Billing and the invoice is emailed within 24 hours.

Invoice-ready records

Stripe billing emails can go to your finance office's inbox. Bank-transfer invoices and receipts stay in Billing for download.

Money-back guarantee

Refund requests are handled manually by Bell Path support: full refund within 30 days, pro-rated review from days 31-90, and full review if Bell Path does not work for the school’s Term 1 timetable.

The right tier

Bell Path checks enrolment, classes and staff before it generates, so the price matches the real size of the school.

What happens after you click Start

Create your school’s account. The price is confirmed before you pay.

Bell Path works out whether your school is a pilot, founding or standard school, and which size tier applies, from what you enter in setup. You see the price before checkout.
