We load the timetable you already have within 48 hours. Then cover for absent teachers, staff duty rosters and the rest of the week-to-week tools are free for two weeks. After that, a subscription keeps them going.

Bell Path uses whichever tier is highest by enrolment, classes, or teachers and specialists. Setup takes up to 80 classes for any school, so no tier lists more classes than that. The teacher count includes teachers with their own class and specialists such as PE, Art, Music or LOTE. It leaves out your principal, assistant principals and other leadership, education support staff and aides, and office and other staff: they go into Bell Path but do not change the price.

- The standard price is one subscription for the whole school, paid yearly or each term, with no charge per staff member. A 300-student school pays about $5 per student per year and a 600-student school about $6.
- Payment methods
- Stripe checkout takes credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link for annual or termly billing, and its billing emails can go to your finance office's inbox. Either plan can be paid by invoice and bank transfer instead.
- Bank-transfer invoice
- If your school prefers to pay by invoice, choose "Pay by invoice" in Billing once School Setup passes Deep Check (the full test that the timetable fits), and say who it is for. The invoice is ready to download there straight away, and it is due 30 days after it is issued. On the termly plan, each invoice pays for 3 months: the first from the day it is issued, and each later one from the day the one before it ends. The next one comes by itself about a month before each 3 months end, until the school tells Bell Path to stop. To stop, tell Bell Path before the next invoice is issued. If an invoice is still unpaid 45 days after its due date, access pauses until the payment arrives, and nothing is deleted. If an invoice cannot be made on the spot, Bell Path emails it within 24 hours. Billing keeps the invoice and receipt. Bank details appear only inside the invoice.

- Invite your business manager from Settings, then Members, and share the School Approval Pack with them.
- Refunds
- Refund requests are handled manually by Bell Path support: full refund within 30 days, pro-rated review from days 31-90, and full review if Bell Path does not work for the first term’s timetable.
Bell Path needs to save less than an hour a week to pay for itself.
The lowest Victorian assistant principal salary, $136,022, over 1,976 paid hours is about $69 an hour. A school of 301 to 450 students pays $2,699 a year, the same as about 39 hours of that time: less than an hour a week across 40 school weeks. Every smaller school pays less, so the same holds for any school of up to 450 students.
In many primary schools the timetable, daily cover and yard duty are done by an assistant principal. Under the Victorian Government Schools Agreement 2022, Victorian assistant principals are paid between $136,022 and $191,811 a year (rates from 1 July 2025, before superannuation). Nobody publishes how many hours that role spends on timetabling, so the table lets you pick the number that matches your school.

The salary cost is the annual salary divided by a 38-hour week across 52 weeks, then multiplied by the hours. It leaves out superannuation and on-costs, so the real cost to the school is higher. Set it against the price for your school above: a 300-student school pays $1,349 a year on standard pricing.

How we timed it. On 26 September 2026 we ran this morning on a sample school with made-up names, in a copy of Bell Path built the same way as this site. A script made the 45 clicks at a steady 1.85 seconds each, which covers finding the button, moving to it and reading the result. It typed about five letters a second, like someone who knows the page. That pace accounts for 92 seconds. The rest is the pages saving and loading on our test computer. The stopwatch ran from pressing Add absence to making the second day sheet link. The same morning took 1:52, 1:50 and 2:10 over three runs, and we show the slowest. Your first few mornings will be slower while the page is new.
