Recording and removing staff agreements

An agreement records a teacher accepting less than their entitlement. Record them honestly, and remove them the moment they stop being necessary.

What an agreement is

An agreement records that a named teacher has accepted an entitlement below the standard one, why, and what compensation was provided. It is not a way of making a warning disappear. It is a record you should be comfortable showing that teacher, and showing anyone who asks about it later.

  • The original and the agreed figure are both stored, so the reduction is always visible.
  • Compensation is recorded explicitly, including when there was none.
  • The reason is stored in full and appears wherever the agreement does.

Removing one

  1. 01Open the Final Check page.
  2. 02Find the staff agreements section.
  3. 03Remove the agreement and confirm when prompted.
  4. 04Re-run the check to confirm the timetable still generates with the entitlement restored.

Before you record a new one

Check that the spare-time setting is on and that your specialist program genuinely cannot supply the release. A reduced-entitlement agreement should be the last thing you reach for, not the first thing offered. If Bell Path suggested one before suggesting the setting, tell us, because that is a fault in the product.

Still stuck

Tell us where the step stopped making sense.

If the next action was not obvious, that is a flaw in Bell Path rather than in you, and knowing exactly where it happened is the most useful thing you can send us.
