Enter real days
On the staff step, set each part-time teacher’s working days directly. Do not convert them to an FTE fraction first. Bell Path prorates the entitlement against the sessions those days actually contain, which is more accurate than a fraction whenever your days are not identical in length.
- A teacher working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday gets the entitlement those three days carry.
- Half days are supported. A teacher available for part of a day receives a proportionate share rather than being rounded up to a whole day.
- If a teacher’s days vary week to week, enter the pattern they are rostered for and handle exceptions through daily cover.
The most common mistake
Rounding a two-and-a-half-day teacher up to three days, or down to two. It feels harmless, and it produces a small persistent error in that person’s entitlement every week of the year. Over a term it becomes the kind of discrepancy that is difficult to explain.
