Teachers who are both classroom and specialist

1. 01Add the teacher once on the staff step with their full working days.
2. 02Assign them to their class on the classes step as normal.
3. 03On the subjects step, also assign them as a teacher of their specialist subject, and restrict which classes they teach it to if it is not all of them.

Behind the scenes, Bell Path treats the person as a classroom role and a specialist role so it can schedule both without double-booking them. In the timetable and every export they appear as one person.

• The specialist sessions they teach are time away from their own class, so their class needs covering in those slots.
• They still have their own planning-time entitlement as a classroom teacher.
• If you leave their specialist days empty, the specialist role is dropped and the subject loses a teacher without a warning. Always set the days.
